ETIKETT
Etikett is an improvised dance theatre project developed through a collaboration between Moveo Dance Company and Teatru Malta. Conceived as a live performance with no predetermined narrative, the work explores the relationship between performers, audience, and the creative process itself. In its original format, the audience plays an active role in shaping the narrative, making decisions that influence the performers' actions, relationships, and the direction of the piece. Every performance is therefore unique, with the story emerging through the interaction between performers and spectators.
In 2023, the project evolved into Etikett AI, a new iteration that retained the improvisational structure of the original while introducing AI-generated prompts in place of audience input, opening a different approach to live performance and collaborative creation.
Combining contemporary dance, physical theatre, and improvisation, Etikett investigates human behaviour, communication, and decision-making, while Etikett AI extends this exploration by examining the dialogue between human creativity and emerging technologies, reflecting ongoing research into participation, unpredictability, and the possibilities of live performance.
