BURDELL

Burdell is a site-specific contemporary dance performance by Moveo Dance Company that brings the hidden stories of one of Valletta’s most intriguing buildings back to life. Set inside The Splendid in Strait Street, a space once known as a brothel and now a living memory of Malta’s social history, the work transforms the building into a stage where past and present meet.
Through a promenade experience, audiences move from room to room, encountering different choreographies created by Moveo’s dancers. Each space reveals a new perspective on absence, memory and the things that remain just beyond our reach, inviting spectators to become part of the unfolding narrative.
Blending movement, architecture and human connection, Missing explores the traces left behind by people, places and moments that have disappeared, creating an intimate journey through the forgotten layers of Valletta’s history.
